Cooking Project: Making a Hot Pot

Aii Language Center pays close attention to ensuring that the students are able to gain knowledge, including not only textbook-based classes but also teaching in practical life.

Our teacher and students conducted a cooking session for students to experience and learn about different cultures, customs, and flavors. Hot pot is one of the best-known meals in China. There are many types of hot pot across China, but at its most basic, Chinese hot pot is an interactive meal in which diners sit around a simmering pot of soup at the center of the table with various raw ingredients, such as meat, seafood, and vegetables, in thin slices or small pieces for quick cooking.

Students enjoyed cooking, eating, and learning about hot pot recipes with their friends and teacher.
