On Jan 19, 2019 Aii Language Centers held the 4th Mengly J. Quach Debate and Public Speaking Championship.

Conducting these competitions gives students an improved perspective in the world around them — Students learn about important issues in politics, public policy, and philosophy, and they gain a better appreciation for the diverse perspectives that make up the public sphere.

Participating in competitive debate and public speaking requires students to interrogate their assumptions, to test their ideas and to present their speech to people in public. These competitions make students think critically, analyze issues effectively, and improve their communication skills.
